Reading Opens A World of Possibilities

My students need book boxes and written response folders for our Self-Selected Reading time. We also need a timer to help them track how long they have to read and complete their assignments.

My Students

I teach at a phenominal school with students who are pumped about learning! My students are energetic learners who are discovering a love for reading and exploration! I never forget how lucky I am to be able to teach such wonderful students in a close-knit community.

To me RE feels more like a family than just a school & I believe our students feel cherished and truily supported.

We are a Title l school, where 75% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are faced with so many challenges both in and out of school; I want to give them every opportunity I can!

Literacy is a huge focus in my classroom because I believe reading opens a door to all other areas that interest my kids! They are reading & learning about topics that interest them to keep them motivated & eager to learn. I believe my true job is to spark their love of learning.

My Project

SSR is the time when my students get to pick out any books (on their level) that they want to read for enjoyment. The book boxes will be used every day during this time to hold the books they pick out. After 30 minutes the students will select one book out of their box to write about. They will do this in their folder and then take their folder with them to group time where they get to share their writing with others. The timer will be used to show students how much time is left for them to complete their writing and other daily assignments.
