This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." Albert Einstein. Everyday my students show me what the miracle of learning is all about! I want them to have an area in the room to enjoy the joy of books!
These students are amazing and are showing me in more ways than one why special education is so important!
Every student is learning and showing growth. It is a blessing to be a witness to this amazing progress. Our disabilities range from mild cognitive impairments to severe cognitive impairments. Some students are not ambulatory at all and require frequent positioning changes.
Our school is outside of Houston, TX and is a Title 1 School. 70% or more of our students receive free or reduced lunch. We are located in an area that is targeted as an low economic area.
My Project
The reading "nook"/center will bring a relaxing and enjoyable place for my special learners to enjoy reading. For our students that have limited ambulatory abilities, having a comfy area in the classroom where they too can enjoy books would add so much to their educational experience!
By allowing our special learners a chance to have a relaxing and comfy reading area that they would otherwise not have access to would be life changing for my special needs students.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our project. I hope you choose to donate to our class. We appreciate everything!
