My students need bungee chairs for our reading corner. I would like to offer a cozy reading corner for my students to feel comfortable when independently reading.

My Students
I work at Title 1 school where about 80% of our students in the school are on free or reduced lunch. My students do not have access to things that I took for granted when I was in elementary school. I believe this should not be an excuse and they should get the same learning opportunities and materials as other students.
I have 22 thoughtful and excitable students in my class.
They are positive and engaged when I introduce new materials into my classroom.
My Project
In our reading corner we currently have one flat bean bag. Although the bean bag started as a comfy chair in the beginning of the year, it has not stood the test of time. I am requesting two bungee chairs for students to sit in while independently reading. I want to provide a place in our classroom where students feel they can go to get excited about reading.
Sitting in a plastic chair at a desk does not make kids excited about reading.
During reading center time, students are encouraged to read their independent reading books. By offering two new comfortable chairs in our reading corner, students will be more inclined to get lost in a good book!
