My Students

I have an amazing class! My students are so sweet and I am impressed day to day of how kind they are to one another. My class is very diverse with so many different cultures represented and various learning styles. They are so helpful to one another and always share encouraging words. We enjoy sharing our experiences with one another. We are like a little family!

Theodore Roosevelt said "Believe you can and you're halfway there;" well my students sure put our favorite quote to use every day!

They work so hard day in and day out despite any hindrances or sufferings they may be going through. Their love for learning and the excitement we share together makes all the difference in the world to them and myself. You've never seen a good time like a bunch of eight-year-olds and their teacher jamming out to the newest Flocabulary rap! Every day is a new adventure with these sweet children and I'm blessed to be a part of their lives!

My Project

Reading is such an important piece of academic growth for students. The more literature a child is exposed to, the greater their reading skills become. My goal is to stock my math classroom with math literature to help my students connect math and reading concepts and enhance their skills.

Most classrooms are not stocked with math literature books.

It is crucial that students see the connection of math to the world we live in and I've selected many books that do just this. I've included books that I can read aloud like Whole-y Cow, Inch by Inch, and Equal Shmequal to teach important math concepts for third grade. I've also picked out books my students can read individually to refresh their skills or just for fun like the Sir Cumference Series and The Grapes of Math. These books will be a blessing to many children year after year!
