I teach at a Magnet school in Connecticut. We serve students from many towns surrounding the Hartford Area. Every day our students come from many different places and many different circumstances but they are all ready to learn! They are eager to learn and work together each day.
Many of our students do not have the same educational opportunities as their peers.
As a school, we strive to provide well rounded experiences for our students to help them become global citizens.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! We also meet for reading group to practice our skills.
With these new books, my students will be able to use a variety of texts in small group that are both interesting and at their reading level.
These books and materials will help my students remain interested and complete very important reading instruction that they need to succeed. We will use the books and timers to practice our reading fluency. In addition, we will use the books and wipe off boards to analyze texts and complete graphic organizers to deepen student comprehension. These books and materials will provide my students with the things they need to become life long readers!
