My Students
My students are a group of warm, intelligent children that enjoy learning with their peers. They are proud of their cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Reading bilingual stories, Spanish and English, are their absolute favorite read alouds. Thoughtful discussions always follow. My students bring a high level of energy and curiosity with them every morning and they leave our classroom each day wanting more.
The work ethic and levels of compassion my students exhibit are beyond their years and they are HUNGRY for knowledge.
These iPads will allow my dual language students to engage in reading and language acquisition in a fun, individualized way. My students will be able to rotate throughout the week and use the iPads to access programs such as Epic!-Books for Kids to read during reading workshop.
The iPads will allow students to be met where they are and practice the reading skills that they need.
This individualization is key when considering their language acquisition and growth in our dual language classroom. Additionally, we will be able to use the iPads to supplement other curriculum areas such as Social Studies and Writing. They will be used to incorporate research in our learning and to allow for use of technology on a day to day basis.
