This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project allows for my students to use fun and easy manipulatives to help with reading. I teach 2nd grade, and learning to decode is a challenge. By using Pop-Its, Play-doh, and Putty, the students can build the words by forming the letters. Once they are able to do that, they can now sound out each letter to read the word that was created.

Making Reading Fun can help my students want to learn and advance to the next reading levels.

There is a gap in foundational skills due to COVID. My job is to help my students grow and be successful in learning phonics and decoding skills.
