My Students
My students attend a Title I School in Philadelphia, and almost 100% receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a typical inner city school. Most face such serious obstacles before they ever walk though the doors in the morning. So our goal is to make our school a safe and loving environment.
Our students come from the diverse backgrounds and different countries.
This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
It is so important for our students to read outside of school. I want to have my own up to date classroom library where they can take a book at any time just for fun. If they can read for fun and find enjoyment in it they will become better life long readers. These skills will transfer over into our classrooms. If their reading skills increase it is obvious that their grades are going to increase also. I believe that for kids to get excited about reading we need to have the most current books which our school library may not have.
