This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are here everyday ready to learn. They realize what's important to them, and they have a do-whatever-it-takes attitude when it comes to teaching and learning. They don't require much but a little time and attention, but what they need more than anything are the tools and resources to make things happen. My goal is to get them ready for their state assessments in the Spring with a passing score of Level 3 or more! Let's Go Mighty Wildcats!

My Project

Reading is "Yummy!" This novel, "Yummy," is the first of many books I would like to use to build a reading library for my 10th grade students with a low interest and who are struggling readers. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create for my students. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. These books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time and show growth on their state assessments!
