In our third grade class we are hopeful that these fun reading resources will help increase our students understanding of reading.

Severe budget cuts in our State have decreased the amount of fun yet meaningful activities our students have been exposed to in the past.

My students need resources to foster an understanding of reading skills. The reading resources we have chosen deal specifically with the areas we test low in. These resources will be helpful in increasing our students reading scores.

Our third grade class is working hard to meet the requirements of No Child Left Behind. State Assessments are a required part of NCLB. For the last 3 years our reading scores have been low. With lack of funding from our State our class has not been able to order new materials. Main idea has been the lowest indicator on our State Assessments. I am asking for materials that supplement our reading program. I feel that new materials would foster excitement and enthusiasm for my students. With the ordering of these supplies our classroom would have the opportunity to gain valuable reading skills. Our school’s character pledge is to be “paws”itive in all learning situations.
