Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a school with students from diverse backgrounds and speak a variety of languages. My students are a diverse group who are on all different levels. I have many English Language learners as well. My goal is to have students leave my classroom reading on and/or above level.
My students love reading and look forward to reading centers where they can explore a variety of stories.
Even though my students are from diverse background and do not all have access to books and technology at home, they are always eager to learn and do their best while they are in school.
My Project
My students are ready and eager to learn. I am constantly trying new ways to keep them engaged and keep them wanting to learn more. We are asking for tables and headphones to help those students who don't have the technology available at home be more engaged and wanting to read more while in school. We are also asking for some flexible sitting to make the learning fun and comfortable. These items will ensure my students are engaged and will keep them wanting to read more, specially the students who are English language learners. My students will greatly appreciate it!
