My lovely students enjoy all types of books. Reading helps build their independence and self confidence. It opens up a whole new world of understanding and comprehension of the world around them. “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.”— Dr. Seuss, “I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!”
We love reading books, exploring puppet shows and adventuring through felt board stories just to name a few activities during our daily routines. One of the biggest reasons why we read books is to gain knowledge. Books are a rich source of information. Reading books on varied subjects imparts information and increases the depth about the subject as well.
My Project
The magic of reading will take place in our classroom as my students begin to explore reading in different ways of learning. These materials will help my students learn to read with excitement. The big books will give them a chance to experience reading in large print and pictures. The words can be expressed with interest as they come to life in big pictures. The wikki stixs will help them begin forming letters of the alphabet so beginning sounds can be made to form words. My students will enjoy all these new materials for we can make the magic of reading come to life.
