This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My day is always rewarding. Teaching 3rd graders Reading and Social Studies is fun and challenging. Every child is so different and it is a joy to get to know and develop personal relationships with them all.
My students are inquisitive and always excited to learn.
They love reading, participating in Socratic Seminars, and learning about the dynamics of different societies. My students have so much potential and thrive in an environment that is structured and promotes diversity and creativity.
My Project
These books will help to promote good reading habits in the classroom.
Acquiring literature that is popular in tween culture today will hold my students’ attention and make them excited to exchange each book for a new one.
Many of my students ask for these series on a daily basis. They instill important values such as friendship and team work. They allow students to use their imagination and to escape their many problems for a few moments while they explore these fictitious plots. I would like my students to fall in love with literature and to understand that all interesting things do not have to happen on a television or video game screen.
