My Students
Readers are leaders! Every year my kiddos fall in love with authors, with reading, and with learning. We are a Title 1 public elementary school with a diverse population. About half of our population is on free/reduced lunch. Many of my students do not have books at home. Most do not value reading and higher education, BUT we are changing that one child at a time. Reading is fundamental to success in life and my little scholars are on their way!
My Project
As I transition from teaching 22 children to teaching about 90 kiddos, I need more ...just more! :-)
I've collected hundreds of books during my career, but I'm asking for more boy friendly books.
We are teaching our kids-all of our kids-to expect to continue their education beyond high school. I'm requesting pillows to scatter around as we read, think, and collaborate. I've intentionally chosen college-themed pillows.
Finally, I need composition books to record our thoughts, aha moments, and questions (these are not included on our districtwide school supply list).
My goal, as always, is to help children fall in love with reading, thinking, and learning. Helping a child BECOME is the best, best, best job in the world! THANK YOU for considering helping me reach my goal(s).
