Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a great elementary school! My students are so excited to learn new things. Therefore, I'm eager to teach them! My students are from a very diverse community and from the middle to lower socioeconomic income families and a Title I school. All of them are grateful to learn in a nurturing environment!
Teachers are providing instruction during an unprecedented time and need support to provide engaging curriculum!
I am looking to expand the variety of learning tools that I can provide my students.
My Project
Reading will be very different this year because of remote learning. School curriculum will be sent home with students, but it is limiting. Scholastic News is an engaging, non-fiction magazine that covers current events through social studies and science topics. A glossy, colorful magazine comes weekly and is great for young readers because of it visuals and low pressure, short articles. It also makes a significant impact on students' social and language skills. We will be able to have class discussions on a variety of topics, as well as online access and tools with our subscription.
