This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic and motivated to learn. They are all hard workers who do not give up. They are an empathetic and appreciative group of kids. They do not take anything for granted. I am extremely fortunate to be their teacher and be in their lives. My students are learning lifelong skills by cooperatively working together.

My Project

I am requesting items to use for activities for Read across America week. The plan is to incorporate read alouds with fun activities to bring stories to life. Students will be engaged not only with the stories but the hands-on activities being connected. This project will provide resources to connect with The Lorax. The gummies will represent the barbaloot bears and students will use the straws to make trufla trees. Reading is imperative for our students and being able to capture their attention with such activities motivates and sparks their interests. All year long we emphasize how important reading is in our lives and our future.
