My students need help in two major areas. They need reading to come to life, and for reading and science to come together. With the STEM activities, puppets, and reading games they can do this!
I have 17 curious, sweet, and caring kindergarten kiddos. Their minds are always wanting to learn more. They push me to be a better teacher by helping them reach their goals. I am constantly researching and revamping what I do to reach their little minds.
It is my joy to be able to teach them each and every day.
We are not just a classroom with a teacher and students. We are a classroom family. It is such a blessing to have a job that I love to much!
My Project
My students seem to like reading, but I want them to fully immerse themselves in a good book. The puppets will help make the stories come alive. I only have so many character voices, and quite frankly they are pretty scary.
I would love to take this further by tying in science.
Science has really taken a back seat in comparison to reading and math. It is time to bring it back. What a better way to do this than to incorporate it in with our favorite stories!
I want my students to love reading their own books. In order to do this they need phonemic awareness, phonics, and comprehension strategies. What is a better way to grow these skills than with learning games? I have a few learning games in my classroom right now, but would love more to help my students. Learning should be fun!
