My Students
Our school's mission statement is, "Respect. Honor. Responsibility. We are learning to be the BEST we can be!" I find this statement to be true with each and every one of my students. They are constantly working hard and striving to become their best selves both in and out of school.
The majority of my students come from low income non-English speaking families. However, they always come to school with eager smiles in their faces and a positive attitude towards themselves as well as their peers!
My Project
Each of these books was chosen with all of my students in mind. At the end of every day, I let my students take turns picking a book from our classroom library. I enjoy ending our day this way because it allows us all to have a relaxing fun-filled moment before we go our separate ways for the remainder of the day.
Expanding our classroom library will provide my students with ample options that will better cater to their individual interests. As we read our adventures aloud, we like to share our own experiences that relate to the book at hand, or we put ourselves in the main character's shoes and escape to a whole new world. These books will be cherished and loved by our classroom family.
