Help me give my students and my school access to a leveled reading kit. These kits allow us to assess what level of books our 600 students need to have in their hands.
Our students walk into school every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them. Every day our school starts our morning out saying our Pledge of Allegiance and our Tiger Pride Pledge. These students take such pride in knowing what our school stands for. We want our students to love coming to school and doing these things together gets them so excited.
Many of our students in this school struggle with difficult home lives and the one thing we want our students to have is a safe place to go and leave all of that behind.
We want our students to enjoy being a student and coming to school every day.
My Project
As a teacher I want my kids to be able to read and find books that they love to read. If a child consistently gets books that are too hard for them to understand they can lose a lot of information and exciting parts of their story.

As a teacher, we are continually trying to meet the needs of all our students. We do that by assessing students reading levels and letting them choose books they want from the levels they can read. I would like to purchase a leveling kit for the students in our school. We have between 500 to 600 kids in our K-2 school, and we share these kits to assess our students.
These kits are essential for our struggling readers and children with special needs. Children need to build confidence in their reading ability and find a way to enjoy reading. If a child constantly feels like they are failing or struggling to read they can easily feel like reading is an undesired job. I know there will be children who don't like or love reading, but I want them to be able to pick up a book, article, instruction manual, or any other reading material they are interested in and be able to read it.
