My Students

Our library is the center of learning in our diverse population. Our students visit the library once every 2 weeks for books exchange only.

We are a small Title I school in New Jersey and we are in serious need for library books.

We have many diverse cultures in this school and not the books to support those students. The students live in a close knit community in Central New Jersey. Many of the students in the school get free breakfast and lunch on a daily basis. Some of them face many challenges. Even though their lives may be a challenge, they still come to school excited to learn and willing to find a new book to read!

In this district, Library is a quick exchange of books in the elementary schools. But when the focus is only on exchange of books and the school has not been able to buy new books for a few years, then the exchange of books becomes tedious.

My Project

Reading a book is something that all students can do at any time. Without the proper quality of books, students become disinterested and turn to other outlets to spend their time. Books are the one thing in this world that can take you from the world you are living in and transport you to a place you can only dream of going.

A donation to our library would help keep our students interested in reading.

As a librarian, I have a love for books, and as a librarian and a teacher, I am trying to share my love of books with my students and in turn, have them love books too.
