This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Can we do another craft please after we read a book? Can I read another story online please? Can I take a picture for Instagram? Can I take a picture of our finished work to show my mom? If I make good choices today, can I read to the class? What other animals can an ostrich kill with its kick? How are books made?

My first graders are curious and engaged!

They continue to want to learn more and are proud of what they have accomplished. We are a flexible seating classroom as well as a student led Instagram classroom. 21st learners in the making, but we need more!

We are a Title I school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. My students need as many resources available as possible. Resources that can make learning and reading fun.

My Project

My students will be able to have access to hundreds of leveled readers in their hands. These 6 Kindles will allow them to get cozy in our reading nook and find the love of reading. Kindles have the feature of a text to speech function which can help struggling readers too.

With limited resources in the classroom, these Kindles will provide unlimited possibilities in my students hands.

Students will be able to:

- Access Raz-Kids Online (leveled reading)

- Listen to online read alouds

- Play sight word games

- Play phonics based games

- Create reading fluency videos

-Post to Instagram providing meaningful learning based captions

- Practice typing reader responses.
