Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are always willing to learn. They have inquisitive minds and love to ask questions. They are compassionate and understanding of each others feelings and understand what it means to be a community.

My students are special because they know how to work with very little resources.

They understand that as a team we work together to maintain the classroom and be resourceful.

These children want to come to school to learn, feel safe and be apart of a group.

My Project

My students do not have a listening center nor audio books. They enjoy having stories read to them, but with this listening center, my students can do author studies, book studies and collaborate together to discuss what they have read and how they feel about the chapter books.

Frog and Toad and Henry and Mudge chapter books are a great start for my first graders.

Giving this feel of independence will give the students a sense of pride and ownership.

Having the Delux cassette/ cd listening center for reading will encourage my students to enjoy audio books and I am looking to accomplish a love of reading with this project.
