My Students

My students are fun-loving, creative, hardworking, and determined. I am lucky to have a classroom full of students who are eager and ready to learn!

My kiddos all live in a very rural area where a lot of families struggle with financial hardships.

Getting "just right" books into my students' hands would be the confidence booster they need to take them to the next level. I am hoping to instill the love of reading into every child I work with.

My Project

My school has recently changed our reading curriculum. We are moving from a reading program where all the books and supplies were provided to a reading workshop model. With this new model, students are expected to have many high interest, grade appropriate text available at all times.

Unfortunately, coming from a small rural town, funds are not always available to provide the students with the supplies they need to succeed.

As beginning readers, my students need many many texts at their level to help them grow and learn, and my classroom is lacking these materials!

By donating to our project, you will improve our first grade classroom library and build better, stronger, more confident readers. With more books in their hands, the sky is the limit. Thank you for your support of these very deserving children!
