Readers, creators, scholars, and athletes fill our school and library each day. My students are curious, kinetic, energetic, and ready to learn. We strive to grow and improve each day. As a school librarian, I have the very best job in the school, because I get to work with every student in every subject, and even get to sponsor and support our extracurricular activities.
My students love to read, create, move, and collaborate.
Student helpers and visitors learn and work in our library daily. They help keep the library organized, help other students and teachers with technology, and take initiative on many special projects. These students have wonderful, creative ideas for improving our school library. We all pitch in to keep our space clean and organized. This is a great way to build a feeling of community and learn responsibility alongside academics and literacy.
My Project
My students need some fun, interesting bookmarks and due date stamps to mark their spots as they read and keep track of due dates. Students love to receive a cool bookmark every time they check out books, but our current bookmarks are a little boring. We love to make our own when we have time, but fun scratch and sniff bookmarks, emoji bookmarks, and a Happy Birthday bookmark on your special day help middle school students feel loved and appreciated.
A special bookmark makes a library visit even more fun, helps provide a welcoming atmosphere in the media center, and is an incentive to check out books and read more often!
We are also asking for due date stamps so students can stamp the back of the bookmark they choose and stay organized for book returns.
Middle school students still love to read, and they love a real printed book in their hands. We need bookmarks to take care of our books and due date stamps to help get the books back on time so we can all share. These special bookmarks will also help our students feel excited, welcomed, and appreciated when they use our school library.
