My students need small incentives such as invisible ink pens, slap bracelets, mini flashlights and more to keep them motivated in reaching their Accelerated Reading goal and READING all year long!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are sitting in the same classroom that I was sitting in when I was in the sixth grade. We are from a small urban community that is greatly effected by poverty. All of our students receive free lunch, and most importantly, all of my students are amazing!
My students are the reason that I wanted to become an educator and return to my hometown to assist them in realizing their capabilities.
They are capable of achieving their highest goals, overcoming their obstacles, growing into leaders, and improving our community. My students are deserving. They deserve to have to chance to take valuable opportunities, to be supported, and to be challenged. My goal is to provide my students with a productive, clean, organized, and appealing learning environment that they look forward to being in.
My Project
My goal is help my students love reading. I am hoping to create an Accelerated Reading store this year. When a student finishes reading a book, he or she will have the chance to take an AR test on that book. After the test, the student will awarded a certain amount of points. Each month every student will have the opportunity to spend the points they have earned at the AR store. This project will allow me to include slap bracelets, invisible pens, sticky slap hands, twisting pencils, and more in the AR store.
These incentives will help by motivating students to read and reach their goals.
By reaching this goal, they will develop fluency and see how much they are capable of. The students at my school are hard working and deserving. Please help me in rewarding them for all the hard work they will put forth this year.
