Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love my students very much. Every day they show me enthusiasm for learning. In order to help them learn, I provide many things myself for them to succeed in school.
The school I teach at is a very low economic school.
We have about 95% on free and reduced lunch. My school has a variety of ethnicity, with a majority of students being Hispanic. I teach English as a second language students and ESE students who need my additional support everyday.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are two copies of each of the Sunshine State books from the 2018-2019 list. Some of the titles are Overboard, The Ark Plan, and Podkin One-Ear. These titles invite kids into new worlds. These books are chosen by my state, Florida, every year because of the quality of literature they provide for kids.
My students are encouraged to read daily in my classroom through my provision of Great literature!
My students are in a low economic area and their access to quality literature is limited. By adding these into my classroom, I am encouraging life long readers.
