My Students

Can you name your favorite book? Is it a tough decision? Many there are too many to choose from. Most of my students can't name a favorite book but they haven't read Bud, Not Buddy yet.

We are a high poverty school in Florida.

We are a diverse population with all ethnic groups represented. My students have a wide range of interests from sports, skateboarding and biking to cheering and dance. However, none of them are fond of reading.

My Project

With the set of the novels, Bud, Not Buddy, you will be providing my students with the gift of literacy. This story is heart warming and endearing. It will capture the interest of young, reluctant, struggling readers and win them over. With your help, this novel will open the door to a world of reading for these sixth graders.
