My students are wonderful children who read well below grade level when they arrive to my classroom. Many are underprivileged and undereducated. We work hard to move them as far as possible in an environment that is not comfortable or inviting.
The desks we have are older than I am and it shows.
Students are tired on sitting on hard broken wood. It will be wonderful to be able to offer alternatives that make them more comfortable while the read.
My Project
These seating alternatives will allow students to read in comfort. They love to read somewhere other than the standard old hard desks.
Many students have special needs and are simply unable to sit still and focus all day.
Reading should be done in comfort. Students are much better focused when they have an environment that invites movement.
The lap desks and wobble cushion will add comfort and color to the otherwise drab and boring classroom we all remember.
The floor chairs will be a favorite among my students because they look so inviting and colorful. Students will work to learn.
