My Students

My students walk into our classroom full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I ask them, "Who is the best kids in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.

Many of my students have very limited schooling in their own language and are now thrust into a formal school setting.

They love to be read to during the day. They are also starting to try to read themselves by talking about the pictures in the books. They tell what is happening, which is a start for independent reading.

I would like them to feel more comfortable while reading.

My children live in low income situations. They don't have the advantage of having books at home or read to them.

My Project

This year the children are very interested in reading and I want them to have a comfy spot to read their little books. The children would be able to find a nice open space that they can sit or lay down to enjoy their picture books.

Your generous donation to our project will improve our Pre-K classroom by building stronger readers.

This will change our students' feelings about reading. Knowing they have a nice comfortable rug to read on and share their stories with classmates. This will better their love of stories and have them possible success later in school.
