My Students

I teach 4 classrooms of 6th grade language arts learners. I have several goals for my students. The first goal is that my students feel valued as their unique selves, and as a part of my classroom. I want them to find value and take ownership in their role as learners. I want them to develop a lifelong relationship with and love for reading. I want them to discover the world that will open to them when they open or listen to books!

My Project

The students in my language arts class love find comfortable, unique places to read! Currently, the students spill out of my classroom into a collaborative workspace that has some seating options. There are giant windows kids can sit by. However, there are currently no seating options on the floor. I am hoping to provide some comfortable places for my kiddos to curl up with a good book and bask in the warm sun next to these beautiful windows. I would love to give these kids choices that will allow them to enjoy their time as readers in my classroom!! Please help us learn, read, and grow!
