My Students

My students are very inquisitive students who are eager to learn and excited about discovering new things. They come to school each day ready to learn something new. I teach at a Title 1 school and most of my students come from low income households. Many of them have never traveled outside of the county; however, they love reading and enjoy diving into books which allow their imaginations to take them wherever they want to go.

They are awesome students who make teaching worthwhile.

My Project

The flexible seating bean bag options that I am requesting will be used in a part of my room to create a reading nook. Currently, my students do not have a place to sit comfortably and read their books during class. Flexible seating gives the students a choice of different seating and allows them to move from a traditional desk to a more welcoming seating arrangement.

Flexible seating builds community!

Not only does flexible seating allow for comfort, but it also builds community by teaching students to take turns and share spaces with their classmates. Students learn to spread their time between several seating options and allow fellow classmates to experience the flexible seating as well.
