Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I am teaching math, science, and social studies to third grade students. I have a very diverse group of students this year who are all on various academic levels. All of my kids come from very different backgrounds, and 95% of our campus population receive free and reduced lunch.
All of the students on our campus are eager to learn and truly have a love of learning!
I am trying to build lifelong learners who are passionate about learning.
My Project
I want to provide my students with the opportunity to read math concept books both at school and at home. My goal is to have a classroom library filled with math concept books. All of the books in my cart are related to skills my students will learn this year.
Most of my students do not have access to books outside of school, so it is my hope to provide them with as many books as I can.
Last year, my students were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. They were forced to miss school for two weeks and when they came back they were concerned about others who lost more than they did. Please help me on my journey to build lifelong readers by providing my students the right books.
