My Students

I work on an Air Force base in San Antonio, TX. I teach third grade to a group of students who have come from all over the country and in some cases the world. As military kids these children go through so much change. I want my classroom to be a place where they all feel comfortable and engaged to learn. Being able to choose how they learn will help them feel at home.

My students need leveled readers to add variety to their reading groups.

My Project

My students have all really grown through their reading groups this year. We have read and enjoyed discussing books like The Jungle Book, Chocolate Fever, From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, and George's Marvelous Medicine. I would like to expand my classroom library and the choices of books that my students have. I have a great variety of reading levels this year and want to be able to challenge each student at their appropriate level. I have chosen a few books in sets for groups, such as Rules and The Cricket in Times Square, that will allow us to continue our literary studies in meaningful way.
