These kids are my FIRST! This classroom is, too. I want my future 5th graders to love their classroom because they helped create it.
As a first-year teacher, fresh out of school, I want to provide the best classroom I possibly can for them!
My students will have a clear space to unwind, select books they’re interested in, and carry out teamwork projects in this space!
I want my classroom library to motivate and encourage students to read magazine, series, and goal-oriented short stories.
My Project
I'm a first-year teacher who wants to give my students a classroom they're encouraged by!
My students will be surrounded by walls that reflect who they are as people, what books motivate and encourage them, and what they learn on a daily basis.
My students will use the adhesive chalkboard paper [Self Adhesive Chalkboard Contact Paper] and chalkboard markers [Fine Tip Chalk Markers - Pack of 10 neon color pens - Non Toxic Wet Erase Chalkboard Window Glass Pen] to create a "Reading Graffiti" wall where students will record their favorite quotes from classroom books and read-alouds. This wall will act as motivation to continue reading and sharing their love for reading with their peers.
The set of wall pops [36 Confetti Rainbow Colors Polka Dots Wall Decals Stickers] will be used for a variety of activities in the classroom. Students will use the pops to work on their own space during small groups and add personalization to their cubbies! We will also explore activities with the wall pops such as carousel lessons, STEM task cards, and ice-breakers!
Finally, the picture frames [MCS 8x10 Inch Format Frame 12-Pack, Black (65553)] will be used our first few weeks of school will be dedicated to our "All About Me" project. Students will choose a word that is important to them, a quote that is meaningful to them as well as a mission for the entire school year! I will combine all of this as well as their picture and, together, we will create our "Student Photo Wall".
