Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During this COVID-19 pandemic, everything has changed. My group of students are amongst the most vulnerable, but show up every day and give their all. My students face challenges of various diagnoses that make remote learning very difficult. As I try to make distance learning engaging, we all know that students learn best from interactive materials. Please help me make this possible.

My Project

It is easy to say that this pandemic has had a significant effect on all of us, including my students. My students started the year facing challenges, challenges that we were overcoming in our self-contained 12:1:1 classroom. Now, we are faced with a whole new set of challenges that vary from attention deficits, emotional needs and speech delays. My goal is to purchase an interactive literacy game set, on Teachers Pay Teachers, that will allow me to tailor activities specifically to their needs and make it fun! Students will be able to log on to complete activites with me during live sessions where I’ll be able to give immediate support and feedback, as we will have simultaneous access.
