Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach an awesome group of first-graders and we are back in the classroom! My students are having a hard time retaining the information learned. I need fun homework options for students to participate in with families.

My belief is that all students are capable of learning when provided the opportunities needed to overcome their circumstances.

I am blessed with 25 highly motivated and enthusiastic first graders that are ready to learn and have fun while learning!

My Project

These leveled books will help to build reading skills at just the right level, with fiction and nonfiction titles that will let me work with small groups of students while helping them explore a variety of texts. These engaging books are leveled using Fountas and Pinnell’s system, they feature simple language and familiar subjects to help support my young readers.

Help me foster students' passion for reading by starting them in their comfort zone, surrounding them with books on their independent reading level, and modeling my own love of reading!
