My Students
"The more you read, the more you know, the more you know, the more places you'll go!" by Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite quotes. In order for my students to read, they need an ample supple of books.
I have 30 students from all backgrounds and cultures. 12 of my students do not speak English as their first language in their home. Some of them, in fact, did not speak English until this year! My school is located in an inner-city and is greatly over populated.
My Project
These resources will help by students read on a wide range of levels. My beginning readers will have books on their level, while my students who are advanced will be able to read at a much higher level. They will be able to read independently and in small groups with the help of these resources. From my experience, the best way for students to learn is in a small group setting.
Donating to this project will impact my students' lives in an amazing way! They will be able to use the skills they are learning in the classroom and read independently. For a child who is well below reading level to be able to read a book will do wonders for his or her confidence.
