Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a diverse group of students who come from low income homes who are excited and eager to learn! I can't wait to start this year off with some exciting new editions to my classroom that will help engage the students; new items will make it easier for them to continue their learning and reading when they return to their homes each day after school! I am looking forward to a great 2019-2020 year with another group of students who are ready to learn!
My Project
Many of the students in my class are below reading level. Fourth graders should be on a Q reading level but a lot of my students are reading on an M level or lower. In order for my students to be successful this year we need to get those reading levels to at least grade level. The materials I am asking for will help the students to do just that! Students in my class have a hard time with organizational skills as well as paying attention. They are often distracted by outside events. Privacy partitioners, personal book baggies and book bins will allow them to be more organized and eliminate the outside factors that are standing in the way of their success!
