Help me give my students a variety of National Geographic Kids Non-Fiction books on tigers, whales, stars, water, robotics and a variety of Math Read Alouds on geometry, fractions, place value, and telling time.

My Students

Can you imagine being in a third grade classroom exploring various animals, ecosystems, plants and even math topics without a variety of books to follow up your learning?

I would like to give my third grade students an opportunity to be able to go beyond the science and math book for their content.

I would like to give them the chance to explore other options such as picture books and chapter books.

Our school is a Title I school, almost half the students attending qualify for free or reduced priced lunch; we have a very low budget for necessary math and science supplies for our students to adequately learn skills; let alone the budget to allow for extra books for the classroom.

My Project

The books I am requesting will help my students visualize and bring to reality the concepts I am teaching in class. I will be able to introduce new skills to my students through read alouds, catching their attention to make them curious about these topics.

Students will have reading materials available will allow for them to have books to read when they have finished their work in class, therefore increasing their knowledge about the subject matter the class is working on in class at any given time.

My students would have an opportunity for total engagement in all areas of my classroom.
