Help me give my students the opportunity to learn from Scholastic News and Choices, current educational magazines that are at the appropriate grade and reading level.
My students are unique in that they are general education students first but are also students with a variety of special needs/disabilities. Every one of my students are different, they each have individual personalities, likes, dislikes, and needs. They are a diverse group of students with disabilities ranging from social/emotional/behavior to specific learning disabilities to health impairments, and beyond.
Although my students have a variety of needs, we work hard together to create a classroom community where each individual child feels accepted, safe, and has the ability to learn.
My students get excited to help each other become the best students they can be. My students enjoy bright colorful lessons and assignments that catch their attention and stand out from their other classes.
My students love to learn even when faced with challenges that seem too big! They encourage each other, support each other, and alway strive to find common ground to be there for one another! My students are all unique individuals and accept each other for who they are.
My Project
My students are used to reading textbooks that are above their reading level and often do not contain topics that they enjoy.
Purchasing Choices and Scholastic New magazines will allow my students an opportunity to read grade level appropriate material that falls within their interests!
Many of my students do not have the opportunity to experience reading that they will enjoy! So please help me provide a real-world learning material for my students.
Engaging and encouraging students with special needs to read is a powerful way to help them learn. When students can read a magazines at their level, they are more open to learning from it.
