I teach students that are eager to learn. My students look forward to experiencing their learning each day! They love learning using their hands and being creative. The students I teach, love being able to move and work around the classroom. They enjoy researching, planning projects, working in groups, and succeeding in their class work. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds including African American, Hispanic, and White ethnic groups at a Title 1 school. I serve students with a range of accommodations including preferential seating, small group, frequent breaks, etc.
My Project
My students would be so excited to have the opportunity to read the books in these series that appeal to them. This project, if funded, would help my students experience a love for reading. With that love for reading students are more likely to excel in all subjects because they can better understand what they are reading. By providing my students with the opportunity to enjoy reading on a regular basis with books they enjoy, this will improve the students vocabulary, desire to read, and help them become more confident readers. My students enjoy reading series, they have already read most of the series currently in my classroom. These new books can help light the fire to reading for my students!
