My Students
Our school is located in a small town in southern Oregon. I have had the opportunity to teach these kiddos for almost two years now and I am still learning new, incredible things about each and every one of them.
My students are from a variety of backgrounds and personalities. We are a community of kind, caring, respectful, safe, and responsible individuals. I want to provide my students with as many amazing opportunities as possible but our class funding is limited.
My Project
The majority of my students do not have access to different genres of books at home. This project will provide our class with just that! It is important that they are exposed to a print-rich environment and having a variety of genres and reading levels will benefit them and help meet the reading needs of all students.
My students are finally taking an interest in reading but unfortunately we do not have the funding to provide a proper classroom library. I am only a second year elementary teacher, therefore, my collection is very limited and outdated. All of the books that I have selected fit the interests of my students. The students will also be able to have a nice, sturdy book bin to house their selections for the week. The magazine rack will come in handy while storing our various magazines. This will help make those selections more inviting as well. This donation will be more than appreciated! This project will give the students one of the best reading experiences!
