My Students
I teach 3rd graders who are full of life and excitement. They come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, including low-income households, and from places all around the world.
My students love to read and be read to. They get so much joy from reading new books. They are always so excited when they see a new book pop up on our shelves.
I'd love to give them the chance to experience new books in our library that are on their level so that they can build their confidence and love of reading.
My Project
A love for reading is hard to nurture- especially when students have a hard time finding books that look appealing to them. My goal is to help my students have access to new and exciting books that are on their level.
A lot of my students are not reading on grade level, which means I don't have a lot of books in my library that they can read independently.
I would love to get books for my classroom library that are on kindergarten-third grade level. This would help me reach most of the students in my class that are new to the English Language, falling behind in their reading skills, or need a confidence boost as they read by themselves.
