Help me give my students a chance to explore different reading options, as well as explore different fun and unique ways to learn new techniques for reading!
What I love most about my students is that they are hardworking and driven to do their absolute best. This is prevalent in all of the patience, motivation, dedication, and charisma that shines through them as all of these changes are occurring with the current COVID situation. They aim to navigate these changes with smiles and drive! I love that they come into the classroom (or come on the virtual conference call) with smiles on their faces, ready to learn something new! Their smiles radiate joy to the whole classroom, and it definitely inspires me to go about my day with a smile and happy thoughts!
My Project
My students will be able to access different books that they have never heard before, as well as access books that they were introduced to, but never got to finish in the series. This project will allow them to finish off series that they have fallen in love with and learn the fate of characters that they have cherished over their reading experience.
This project will give my students the opportunity to diversify their reading personalities by immersing themselves into new worlds.
They will be able to explore new characters and learn what their reading personalities are. This project will also give them a chance to learn reading techniques in a new way!
We are beginning our argument and advocacy unit where we have mock debates. The Expo markers will allow students to work in teams to write down and brainstorm ideas that they collaborated on. Since there is a wide variety of books, students will be able to read about different life lessons and life choices that were made by main characters, especially in the book Chains. Many teachers offer a variety of resources that they made on Teachers Pay Teachers that will allow me to implement reforms these resources in class. I can take these successful resources and use them to help students better understand what advocacy and argumentative writing are.
