Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, we are committed to making sure that everyone has the tools to read successfully. Many of our students have challenges that require specific interventions and additional support. Our students come from diverse backgrounds. Despite being in a Title I school, our students strive to do their best every day. The students who will benefit from this project are those most in need of our support.

My Project
These materials are researched-based and approved by our district to meet the needs of students who struggle with phonics and phonemic awareness. The SPIRE program focuses on teaching students in a systematic way by introducing and repeating lessons until mastery is shown. Research shows students learn through multi-sensory opportunities.
These materials will be used in small group to deliver step-by-step phonemic awareness and phonics lessons.
Students are able to practice these skills daily and have multiple opportunities to show mastery of a new concept.
Even in fourth grade, students need support with letter naming, sounds, and blending sounds to make words. With SPIRE and the letter tiles requested, students have hands-on, engaging opportunities within their reach. Thank you for supporting reading excellence for all!
