My Project

My students love hands on activities that let them work around the room, do a variety of different tasks, and build on what they have been learning. Teachers Pay Teachers is such a fantastic resource to find these supplemental activities to build on our curriculum, and saves me from having to reinvent the wheel. I find, online activities, games, and so much more. I love using multiple graphic organizers I find to reinforce skills we are working on in reading, task cards that get them moving around the room to complete a task while practicing what we are learning, and various games that get them excited about continuing on with their skills.

I also want to get them excited about diving into a book together through literature circles.

Our reading curriculum does a great job teaching skills, but is all based on short stories. I want them to dive into a full book and work together to read through it and learn from it. Being a new teacher, I don't have multiple copies of many books and this supply will give me a great start.
