Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Schools are for children. They enter the doors as seeds in which we nurture, care for, and watch blossom.
My students are enrolled at a title 1 elementary school in North Carolina.
They are a group of young people who are energetic and excited about learning math. Many of them although economically disadvantaged, have an intellectual advantage and gift specifically in the area of math. They are passionate about coming to our math lab and working with numbers and equations.
My Project
Gone are the days of content isolation. Curriculum integration is the 21st century way. With these math picture books I will be able to seamlessly weave literature into the math content area. These works of writing will allow for a fun way to introduce and review math topics. Students will be able to understand that school content areas aren't separate entities, rather they are all of great importance working together.
Your generous donations will help create a 21st century classroom where students will have books that introduce and reinforce what they are learning and have learned in the classroom.
