My students need a set of Junie B Jones books. Our school has begun a great reading challenge and we need these to add to our collection so multiple students can have a copy.
My students love to be creative. I try very hard to give them a wide variety of ways to learn. But, let's face it, today's rigor in the classroom doesn't allow for a lot of creativity.
We have several classrooms that work with Autism, Various Learning Exceptionalities, and students with disabilities, as well as typical learners.
It's what makes us amazing! In my class, besides my typical learners, thirty-one percent of my students are ELL, six percent of my students are ESE and students that are Autistic. Sixty-three percent of my students qualify for free or reduced price lunch. I am a very lucky teacher to have a diverse group of students.
My Project
We are so excited about being able to finally read chapter books. We have an old set of Junie B Jones that is falling apart after being in so many little hands. Adding these new books will allow more than one student to read a copy. They can use them for literature circles and to read along with me as I do read alouds.
The reading challenge is ON!
We have accepted our media specialist's Junie B Jones challenge. We are working towards earning a party after reading books.
We are also asking for some more National Geographic science books about animals so that we can begin work on our science museum project. This will help in our class research. The wireless mouse will be used when we take tests on the computer for Junie B Jones and also will help in researching animals on the computer.
We are so excited to get some new materials for our classroom.
