Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The DLC Digital Learning Center is the hub of activity for our school. Early Morning Access provides an atmosphere where students have a quiet, productive, educational setting. Lunchtime Access means our students can work with peers and or read in a corner without distractions or interruptions.

My young people come from all areas of our town.

Some by bus others walking. They often overcome obstacles that are severe and traumatic. Yet they come to school everyday ready to learn and eager to participate. We serve as mentors to encourage them.

My Project

Currently we have a School Wide 1,000 Book Reading Challenge. Can we read the administrators to the roof? Each class is competing for a class prize of pizza. Each student is competing for a kindle to use to download EBooks. This competition has caused a buzz in the Digital Learning Center - DLC.

By contributing to this request my young people will have more titles to choose from.

They will be able to borrow more books. Consequently each student will be reading more and thus expand their horizon.
