My fifth grade student artists are enthusiastic learners and creators.
They bring passion, innovation, and hard work to the projects they create in class.
Even when the learning goals seem too hard for some of them, I am consistently and pleasantly surprised by their bravery to take on artistic challenges.
The population I teach is diverse, and my students bring a wide variety of perspectives and needs with them to school. I want my classroom to be an encouraging and inspiring place for them to learn and experiment.
By having portable, comfortable chairs for reading, and book bins for storage, it will help my students transition between activities, focus and encourage their independent reading.
At the end of every day, everyone in our school stops what they are doing to read for the last 15 minutes of the day.
The stools in my class are good for art class but not comfortable for reading. The floors can get messy in our art space and are not ideal for reading either. With these chairs, I will have enough for every student in my biggest class to have their own chair
